I feel generally unprepared to talk about the fact that I finished watching all of King of the Hill except to say wow, what a sweet, well-felt, funny portrait of what it’s like to be in a family and in a suburb and growing up and feeling different but anchored to where you’re from. I’ve never seen a cartoon poke fun at America so lovingly and so unangrily without betraying the roundness of the characters.
